Welcome to the FIPSE online grant database.

This database was developed by the Johns Hopkins University with support from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), U.S. Department of Education. It allows users to search, query, or browse information and abstracts on all FIPSE discretionary grants since 1994. Information in the database is continually updated by FIPSE and its grantees, who may upload information and abstracts on their grants through the management portion of the database.

In addition, FIPSE staff members and others will periodically be able to generate program books containing all of the project descriptions active during a particular year or on a selected subject area. These program books are automatically indexed by institution and subject.

The database and website interface is currently running on a Windows 2000 Server running ColdFusion and connecting to an SQL Server database. Development was performed using PHP 3.0.18, MySQL 3.21, Perl, SQL Server 2000, Access, ColdFusion MX 7, NT 4.0, and RedHat Linux 6.0 technologies.

This web site has been designed to be compatible with all standards-compliant web browsers. The site has been tested with and used with Netscape Navigator v4.0 and above, Internet Explorer v4.0 and above, Lynx, and Opera. If you are having trouble viewing this site, please submit 1) the name and version of your browser, 2) the name and version of your operating system, and 3) a detailed description of the difficulty you are experiencing.
