Congressional Purpose: This noncompetitive, Congressionally-directed grant in the amount of $191,593 was awarded for curriculum development.

Funds will be used to procure Washington State wines, conduct laboratory testing of chemical and biological components that have an adverse effect on quality (wine faults), and develop curriculum-based on research results. The curriculum developed will be used to build awareness of wine faults among winemakers and wine grape growers and ultimately improve wine quality.
